9 Years

Today marks 9 years that my Grandpa has been dead. I remember it like it was yesterday. The man that was always so full of life was now laying in a hospital bed in his bedroom with no life left in him. His eyes closed and his mouth drooping to one side. I know he could hear me, but there was no movement left in him. I remember leaning down and whispering in his ear how much I was going to miss him, and for him not to worry about my grandma, that she would be taken care of. I walked out of the room crying and called Josh, He went and checked Joshie out of school and hurried as fast as he could down to the house. I walked back into the room and he was breathing weird so I went and got my dad. So my dad grandma, Aunt Nancy, myself and Bubba went into the room. We could tell that he was ready to go. I know he was holding of for my grandma, he didn't want to leave her, he wasn't sure she would be ok. But she told him to go, that she would be fine. He took one last breath and that was it.
That was the worst thing I have ever seen. One of my best friends died that day. He was not only my best friend, but my boys as well. He loved those boys. He would do anything for any of us.

Dear Grandpa
Today Joshie is now 16 and driving your car. He is a great driver, you would be proud. He is handsome and smart, respectful and very athletic.
Bubba is also very handsome, smart and athletic. He is 15 now and such a funny kid. I don't know where he got his sense of humor, but he always has us laughing.
Lili is 10 and is Beautiful! She would remind you of me, including her attitude!!! She is spitfire Jr. She loves to clean and help everyone.
Mary she is soon to be 9, You never got to hold her, but she is also a Beauty!! She is very loving and cuddly.
All of our kids are smart., and love to talk to adults!! You would love them all.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you, and all that we did when you were alive. All the trips we took when I was little, and all the times we sat out back and talked.
You would be so proud of Big Josh!! We stuck it out, and he is doing so well. He is now running Redd!! He is the boss man and he rocks.
Your Sweetheart is doing ok!! I know that she misses you so much, and wants to see you. She says to me "They say it will be a short time before you see your loved ones again, but it seems like it has been forever." I know she misses you every day. She is a trooper and just keeps going, and I am glad because I don't know what I would do with you both gone.
