We were living up to the U. I had just gotten the boys of to school. I was sitting on the couch with my brand new baby girl who was 13 days old. I was just enjoying life. The phone rang, and it was my mom( Marlene)She was upset, and she says" were under attack!!" I thought at the time she was CRAZY!! So I said WHAT? She said turn on the news. So I did, and I just couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I was reading my journal of that day, and I was so thankful that my little sister(Amanda) had just moved from there. I knew she was safe.
I was in shock!! I always thought we were so safe, living in the United states. I lived in a bubble where every thing is perfect, I still do most the time.
What a sad day to remember, and for all the people who lost their lives, and for their families who are here with out them now.

What a day. I was in Venezuela on a 'split' with another missionary. My spanish was still pretty pathetic and I couldn't figure out what the everyone was talking about. We were told not to talk about, to protect us from those who might be happy it happened. It felt so surreal. I remember getting home almost a year later and Olivia saying the name Osama bin Laden, and it was the first time I had ever heard it. So sad.
Did you see this sweet tribute video?
