So in our little house on 4100 South I had decorated my kitchen in coffee stuff. I have always loved the smell of coffee along with candy or ice cream that has it in it. I never really thought about it much. I liked it, thought it was cute so I bought it. A while back when I found out we were moving I spent a lot of money on new coffee decor. I have been so exited to pull it out and to start decorating our kitchen. So I finally found it!! Pulled it out and was getting ready to put it up when my 12 year old daughter said " Mom is that the kind of stuff we should be putting up in our house?" I asked her why wouldn't ? I think its cute, I don't drink it I just like the smell and thought it would be a cute idea for our kitchen. After that it sat for a couple of days in the little cute boxes on my bar. I just couldn't bring myself to open the boxes and hang it in the kitchen. I couldn't get her words out of my head. I tried to, I wanted to, I wanted to put it up gosh I had spent over $100 dollars on it. But I couldn't. It sat for a week. The more I thought about it, the more I knew my 12 year old was right. It's not what we stand for. We are LDS, and we shouldn't be putting that kind of decor up in our house. So I put it up for sale and was able to sell it for $80 dollars. I am so proud of my daughter and the young lady she has become. I am so glad that she helped me see that it was a problem, and that that isn't how we want to live our life. If goes against what we have been taught, and portrays things we don't believe in, than we should steer away from them.
I love sure do love you LiliAnne Marie Redd.
