I think sometimes we forget

Today was a great day!! It didn't start out that way because of my attitude, but it ended good.
We had a lady in our ward call us and ask us if our family would do Sacrament for the assisted living home down the street. At first I was VERY Annoyed that she had waited till the last minute to call us. She called us Friday evening, and spoke with my Wonderful husband who NEVER TURNS PEOPLE DOWN!!!
So Me being me I was like well you can go and do it, I don't want to. I know that is horrible. What made it worse, was that my kids took my attitude towards going and not their dads. So we all got up and got ready begrudgingly, and not one of us had a nice thing to say, which in turn made our Big Daddy dissapointed in all of us. And I felt bad because I was the ring leader.
I never once thought about how it would make the elderly people feel to see some fresh faces.
We got there and we all were uncomfortable, because we had NO Idea what were supposed to do. The lady in our ward didn't say much so we were clueless.
While the girls and I were sitting on the couch I watched my Wonderful Husband start to go around and ask people their names. He just started talking to them. He spent about 10 minutes doing that. I just tought to myself what a great man. By the end all the kids had relaxed and really enjoyed the experience. The elderly people loved my kids, and told me numerous times what a wonderful cute family I had. It was truly the greatest experience that I have had. I think we forget that people in those homes need friends too, and they need someone to care about them, and someone just to listen.
Today Lili said the opening prayer,I lead the songs, Josh spoke, Joshie blessed the sacrament, Bubba passed it, and Mary said the closing prayer.
I can truly say that the lady who asked us to go was inspired. It was such a great lesson for me, and my kids. I can say that we plan to go back and chat with Rena, Elaine, Joyce, Nancy, Jack, Charles, and David.
Something neat was we had 2 catholics and a Jew sit in and listen today. It was Awesome.
