I love him with all my heart!!
Josh Redd was also called out of the audience. “Families are forever” is a powerful statement. Our greatest joys and most painful trials come within the family. This is a wonderful ward to be part of. Through our trials and challenges, we have others we can lean on. Brother Redd expressed his life for his “dear, sweet wife”. When he and his wife got married, they had “one on the way”. Brother Redd felt bad that he didn’t serve a mission, and he felt like he’d failed his wife. He said they struggled—they didn’t know how they were going to live or who they were going to be. They loved each other, but they didn’t like each other very much. His wife said him, “I’m not going to do to my children what my parents did to me by divorcing. I’m going to stick it out with you.” She was committed to their marriage. They went through the temple and were sealed to their 18-month-old and three-month-old sons. We have our dreams; we have our struggles. When we stand steadfast together, we know we will be able to make it. Brother Redd expressed his gratitude to the bishop for calling him to work with the Young Men. He said he thinks about what he did as a youth and then tells the Young Men to do the opposite. God watches over us. He puts in front of us those people we can help and those people who can help us. He testified that Bishop Petersen has been called by divine authority.
