My Dad

This is my Dad. He is one of my best friends. Someone who loves to talk to me on the phone and see how my day is going. He had back surgery a couple of months ago and hasn't been doing very good. He has always been a hard worker, and his body has suffered becasue of it. Now he sits at home and wonders what is to become of his life. He can't go back to painting, climbing laders and sanding and all the stuff that he loved to do. The things that he has done all his life. He always made his work look so beautiful, kind of like art work. He is very picky about his work and didn't stop until thngs were perfect.
It has been hard on him watching me get so frustrated with my basement. I know that he taught me some stuff, but still nothing looks as good as when he does it, and I am as picky as he is(not a good thing). He has come over a few times to help me, and seeing the pain that he was in just made me sad. But yet he wouldn't stop till he was done.
I know that sometimes he is sad about the way we were raised, but you know he always did the best he could for us. He has such a big heart. when I look backon my childhood I look back at the big tender bear that I love. The man who held me and ate icecream with me when I got my tonsils out. I try to remember the fun times. I love my dad, and it kills me to see him struggle through this trial.
I know that he will get better, it is just going to take longer than we all thought.
Love ya Dad.
